69% of 276 third-party claims with sources could not be verified

The [blog source verification study](/blog/blog-source-verification-study) went further. Of 276 third-party claims that did cite a source, 69 percent could not be verified, and only one of 112 source URLs was actually dead. The links resolved fine. The claims behind them were never verifiable to begin with, and no layer in the publishing stack was designed to catch that.
