Founder, LiquiChart

Daniel Smith is the founder of LiquiChart, the data-stewardship layer for long-form content.

He has spent thirteen years inside marketing teams that publish for a living — six of them in San Francisco and seven in Tokyo. He started in performance marketing at Greater Than One in 2013, moved to Trulia in 2015 to run new-user acquisition, then joined Electronic Arts in 2016 where he eventually led brand-planning media as a Senior Media Manager. In 2019 he relocated to Tokyo to join Apex Co., Ltd., rising from Marketing Specialist to Marketing Senior Lead.

Across every one of those roles he ran into the same quiet failure: a piece of content was published with a chart, a stat, or a claim that was true the week it shipped, and was no longer true a quarter later. The post still ranked. The numbers still cited it. Nobody fixed them, because publishing systems were never built to maintain claims after publish.

In February 2026 he founded AirTA LLC (合同会社AirTA) in Tokyo to build LiquiChart — a publishing infrastructure that treats every chart, poll, and inline claim as a living unit, refreshed automatically when the underlying data moves. The thesis is that the next decade of content competition will be won by whoever publishes content that stays true, not whoever publishes the most.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from Oregon State University (2012).
